- In just 27 weeks, Robert’s debut crime novel has sold over 800,000 copies plus 33,000 audio books.
- Over 16 foreign rights deals including a major six-figure deal in Germany.
Since its release in February 2016 The Girl in the Ice was a No.1 Kindle bestseller in the States and No.2 bestseller in the UK. The second book in the series, The Night Stalker, has sold over 60,000 copies on pre-orders alone, notched up over 180,000 copies to date and hit the top 20 in the UK when it launched in June this year.
Claire Bord, Publishing Director at Bookouture has recently secured a new four book deal with Robert. She said:
This is a phenomenal milestone for both Bookouture and Robert. To reach one million copies in little over six months is a triumph of epic proportions. Robert has established a huge audience for the Erika Foster series and in Erika, created a character that readers are completely hooked on. I’m absolutely delighted that we have secured another four books, which will enable us to keep delivering the next hotly awaited instalment in the series. Our mission is to keep building Robert’s readership at a global level.
Just over a year ago I finished writing The Girl in the Ice, and apart from my husband, I hadn’t told a soul that I was planning to switch from writing romantic comedies to crime.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would land me a three book deal with Bookouture, and then for The Girl in the Ice and its sequel to sell over a million copies in just six months is the stuff of dreams. Thank you to all my incredible readers, and the brilliant team at Bookouture who are just fantastic to work with!
