Publisher's summary

Isabella pedals her bright red bike on the familiar route home, admiring her charm bracelet catching the light. But half an hour later, she is nowhere to be seen. All her frantic parents find is an angel-shaped charm discarded on the sidewalk....

When 12-year-old Isabella Farner disappears, Agent Tori Hunter races to the scene. Witnesses—including her partner’s son, who was biking home with Isabella—saw a man throw her into the back of his blue van and speed away. Terrified that a child she loves like her own might be next, Tori knows every second counts in the hunt for the missing girl.

Isabella’s distraught parents insist no one would want to harm their perfect family. But soon a photo of Isabella looking terrified is discovered, holding a copy of today’s newspaper. Why would the Farners conceal information about their own missing daughter? And what else do they have to hide?

Then, while searching a stretch of road where the van was last seen, Tori finds a tiny clue: an angel-shaped charm. Isabella was here. But what chance is there that she is being kept alive?

Unable to trust Isabella’s parents, as Tori closes in on the truth she realizes someone already known to police must be involved—and she herself is in terrible danger. But even if Tori makes the ultimate sacrifice, will it be enough to find this innocent girl before she disappears forever?

An absolutely mind-blowing crime thriller that will keep you up until the early hours!

The series is great narrator needs to research

I love this series and the narration is of the characters is good but as a Midwestern who know the pronunciation of a lot of the Wisconsin & Minnesota towns mentioned should take the time to google or call the county offices to learn the correct pronunciations it’s a huge turn off to listen to. Even incorrectly pronouncing Dana (Day-na not Dan-a), it’s a unisex name like Kelly. Sorry rant over I know I’ll finish the series I always do lol

Hits the Ground Running then Accelerates

This was a good mystery thriller that was difficult to put down. I would love to have given it a "5" all the way around. Audible, Roger Stelljes, and Kate Handford simply pushed my "irk" button. When you are a Minnesota author you have an obligation to ensure simple regional words are pronounced correctly in the Audible release. Kate Handford should do basic homework.

Minot, North Dakota is not pronounced like "minute." It rhymes with Why-Not; pronounced as MY-not. Likewise, the folks up north have many jokes and stories about Sven, Ole, and Lars. "Ole" is pronounced Oh-lee, similar in sound to "Oli" as in Oliver.

Little meaningless details that could be understood in less than five minutes of research take a book that could be a top-tier professional contender and place it in the realm of mediocre.

Phenominal!

I really love the Tori Hunter series by this author! I have yet to listen to any of the author's other books, but if they are as good as the Tori Hunter series, they will be great too!
