Publisher's summary

"We have a patient who has been involved in a serious accident. We believe he’s your husband."

When Freya first met Phil, she thought he was the man of her dreams. He bought her roses every week, booked surprise trips to sun-soaked destinations, and showed her affection like she’d never experienced before. But over time the dream had become a violent nightmare. And now Freya is packing her bags, knowing it’s time she escaped their increasingly broken marriage.

But then Freya gets a visit from the police. Phil’s been in a horrific car crash and - as he comes around - it becomes clear that he remembers nothing since their blissful honeymoon two years before, back when their relationship was perfect. All he wants is to be happily married again.

Freya knows giving him another chance could be dangerous. But now he’s the one who needs her, it’s a chance to turn the tables and to change the outcome of their relationship once and for all. After all, he will know only what she chooses to tell him....

But what really happened during those two years of marriage? And as they start over again, who is safe? And whose life is in danger?

This book kept me guessing and was very well written

The only complaint I have is that I wish the person telling the story could disguise her voice of the characters. This would have given this story 5 stars.

Marital Secrets???

Great storyline. Filled with multiple ‘who did its’, lies, abuse, amnesia, suspense and surprises. Could not put this one down. Narrator did a good job!

A surprisingly good listen 🎧

Karen King is a new author to me. I didn’t know I was going to enjoy it at all.

The story is about Freya and Phil, who have been married just over two years, things haven't always been a bed of roses between them. With their marriage in turmoil and Phil becoming violent Freya decides to pack her bags and plans to leave, after another row Phil storms out and is involved in a car crash.

As Phil comes around he has no recollection of the last two years of their marriage. Can Freya forgive him and put it all behind her and start again? My first thought as Freya goes back through the abusive marriage is that she was mad to stay with such a manipulative person and time and again he abused, she cried, he apologised, she forgave but love isn't as simple as that… I guess you’ve to listen to the book to know more.

I really enjoyed it and the narrator did a good job too.

Highly recommended

Redundant and boring

Not as good as her other books that I have read. Same phrases said over and over and over throughout the book. Not much of a story

I enjoyed every minute of this book, it was a page turner and I’m so happy I didn’t let negative reviews keep me from it.

Tired of weak female protagonists

This book isn’t “bad” but if you are tired of weak, pathetic female protagonist characters like I am... pick something else.

Very Entertaining

Wasn’t sure I was going to like it at the beginning, but I am glad I stuck it out. It soon picked up and the twists and turns continued all the way through to the very last sentence.

When you finish a book and “Wow” is what you’re thinking several hours later, you know it was a good one.

Good story

Good story but I got frustrated how author repeated details over and over and over.

No suspense at all!

Very dull and repetitive and not even a tiny surprise at the end. Narration was good though.
