You have to stop me from hurting anyone else. I don’t want to do these horrible things. Help me before I’m forced to do it again. And I will do it again because I have no choice. I’ve never had a choice.

In a busy shopping center, a little girl clutches a teddy bear, clinging to it in the absence of her mother, Katrina. Hours later, Katrina’s body is discovered in an abandoned building. For Detective Kim Stone, it looks like a quick, functional murder. But Kim’s instincts tell her there’s more to this senseless murder than meets the eye. What was the motive for killing a young mother out shopping with her child?

Days later, a second victim is found in a local park, her neck broken just like Katrina’s and her six-year-old son missing.

But with her colleague, Detective Stacey Wood, working on another unsolved crime and a member of the team grieving the loss of a close relative, Kim is struggling to make inroads on what is fast becoming a complex case. And when a handwritten letter from the killer lands on Kim’s desk addressed to her and pleading for help, she knows time is running out to bring the little boy home alive.

With the support of a handwriting analyst and profiler, Kim and the team begin to get inside the mind of the killer and make a shocking discovery.

Some of the victims have scratch marks on their wrists.

But these are no random scratches. The killer is using them to communicate with someone. The question is...with whom?

And if Kim doesn’t find them soon, another innocent soul will die.

Nobody does it better than the Queen of Crime, Angela Marsons.

What a mystery!

Another great book in the series. The mystery was complex and the characters well developed. The banter between them excellent and the heart felt moments appropriate.

Angela never fails

Captivating and engaging. Great story line with twist at the end. Whats most important group of amazing characters which you feel like you are teaming with to solve the case.

Everything is Connected!

Dirk Gently jokes aside let me first say I absolutley love this book series (including the performer, Jan Cramer is one of the best, her performance in this series and the Erika Foster series are some of the best I have listened to) but this one disappointed me a bit and I have to say is probably my least favorite of the series. Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed the book and is still well worth the listen if you enjoy this series, but the thing that stung me on this one was the connection of the story lines, it was a bit too far fetched for me.

**Spoilers Ahead**

The book basically has 3 separate story lines at the start; the murders, the rape cases and the celebrity visit. All 3 at the start of the book are totally disconnected things but by the end of the book they are all connect together. I have no problem with this part of it, but the connecting of them was just too far fetched for me.

Stacy randomly chose a 2 year old rape case out of a pile of over 30 cold cases to work on. It could have been any of those cases, but she just happened to pick the case that was done by the current murderer? The odds of that happening were just way too astronomical for me to believe.

Then you also have the connection between the celebrity visit and the murders. Stone gets called in to this meeting around the same time as the murders that has nothing to do with the murders but for security for a celebrity visitor to a mall. It turns out the murders were both part of that meeting and that is the only connection you have to them really. This one didn't bother me as much as the rape case connection but was still to far fetched for me.

All that being said, I did still enjoy the book and it is well worth the listen. I just hope the next one has the plot lines realed in more for believability and realism.

I am a fan.

Deadly Cry continues the Kim Stone series in a gripping and graceful way that we have come to expect. I cannot wait to hear what Angela has Kim and her team doing next...

I have now cried on two books in this series. I have laughed out loud at the banter of characters. Angela Marion's make these characters part of your circle and love them all. Best thriller author I know. thank you again unpatiently waiting next book lolo. thank you

Great addition to the series

Lucky 13!
Definitely another great book in the Kim Stone series. Lots of plot twists and the resolution is unexpected yet Angela Marsons makes it work. Can't wait for the next one.
