Publisher's summary

The body of an unidentified woman has been found on a local beach in a small town. The police have no suspects.

Gloria is used to solitude. Widowed and still grieving her late husband, she spends her days with only her faded photographs for company. But when a young woman is murdered nearby, Gloria grows anxious. Living alone in old farmhouse, surrounded by empty woods, there’s no one for miles who would hear her scream.

When freelance travel writer Beth arrives with her trailer to live on Gloria’s land, Gloria is relieved not to be alone. The police have no suspects in the murder, and fearless Beth makes Gloria feel safe. Then Gloria discovers Beth is a widow, too: The women become closer and begin to share their secrets.

But soon Gloria starts to wonder...what does she actually know about Beth? About what brought her to this isolated spot? About how her husband really died? Is it a coincidence that she’s arrived just as this small town has seen its first murder in decades?

Gloria thought that Beth had told her all her secrets. She was wrong.

An utterly compelling suspense novel that will have you hooked, Two Widows is a gripping thriller that will keep you up all night. Perfect for fans of Lisa Jewell, The Couple Next Door, and The Woman in the Window.

So good! 5 stars all around!

This suspenseful story set in small town Michigan had me hooked from the beginning. I listened to the first half while doing a home improvement project. I couldn’t wait to get back to it the next day. Great characters, writing, and narration.

Loved this book. The authors writing is exceptional. The story line magnificant. The performance wonderful. She truly kept all the charectors individual and we'll known. Loved this book. Look forward to more of her work.

Light reading

Couldn’t get past the grammar errors and mispronunciations at times. Cute story but editing should be improved.

A Well Crafted Story

This was a good story. It moved a little slow at times, but I have to admit that I was drawn to these two women and their separate stories that came to be an intertwined mystery. I would definitely read this author again. The narration was excellent.

Very mixed reviews...

When I saw this book I was unsure about getting it until I looked on Amazon and saw almost all 5 star reviews. With a .99 cent purchase price and $7 something on Audible I thought why not ?
This isn’t a good or bad book. It’s a very in between book with a VERY vanilla plot. There are a couple of murders but nobody seems to make a huge deal. So although I wasn’t bored I wasn’t on the edge of my seat either.
Sarah Borges does an excellent job narrating and probably adds a star to the overall rating.

Slow and boating

Don’t waste a credit. Very very very slow and predictable. I have read other books of hers that were ok. This one not. Did try to return to Audible but they refused to give me a credit
