Publisher's summary

Their parents thought they were hiding....

One beautiful summer’s evening, thirteen-year-old twins Ivy and Erin Westmore snuggle down in a tent in their back garden, giggling and sharing secrets.

When their mother goes to wake the girls the next morning, their tent is empty.

The alarm is raised, and Detective Natalie Ward is put onto the case. When the twins’ bodies are discovered on nearby marshland, covered with deep pink petals, an icy shiver travels down Natalie’s spine. Everything about the girls’ deaths reminds her of a horrifying case she worked on earlier in her career, which saw a killer of the worst kind placed behind bars.

The next day, that feeling is heightened when she receives a chilling note saying "I’m back". Is this killer a copycat, or did Natalie put the wrong person in prison all those years ago? In a small town, where no stranger goes unnoticed, what is Natalie missing?

Consumed by the case, determined to prevent more deaths, Natalie misses the fact that it is her attention the killer wants. And to get it, he has his sights set firmly on her precious daughter Leigh....

Gripping, fast-paced, and nail-bitingly tense. Perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Rachel Abbott, and Karin Slaughter.

Great Series

I loved this whole entire series by Carol Wyer on Natalie Ward. I was really sad about the ending for this book, but it does go to show that things don't always turn out happy and rosie in the end of every book. I wish there was another book to see how Natalie gets on after the tragedy.

Listened to This Autiobook Unable To Stop

I have enjoyed all the DI Natalie Ward books. This by far was the best. Completely held my attention. Carol Wyer author, just keeps getting better with each book. The ending was unexpected. I hope there be more books with DI Natalie Ward, but this sets a high bar to meet.

WOW!

The Blossom Twins left me feeling, "what the *bleep*" and WOW, with tears in my eyes! I could relate to this story as I have a 14 year old daughter of my own, and social media and celebrities are all so very real for these girls!
As with all of Carol Wyer's books, this one started off strong and ended even stronger! I'm looking forward to see how Natalie's life carries on in the next book! This book was more than worth the credit! You will NOT be disappointed!

Excellent and emotional

I just finished this and I’m not sure what to say. This book was intense. Natalie has three murders to work on and an unstable home situation. Her team, for the most part, works brilliantly together. There was so much emotion in this book.

I love the series and I think this is the best. I need the next book ASAP. The narration of the audiobook was also first-rate.

Last poor man's" Prime Suspect substitute - EXCEPT

THE ENDING - now that was certainly an unexpected plot twist!

Otherwise -Dejavue all over again - the affair with subordinate coworker, the work conflict with someone not nearly as skilled as Jane (sorry, wrong story) the addiction, and so on. The mystery itself is different but the majority of the subplots are justv TOO FAMILIAR (albeit "tweaked") for fans of Linda LaPlante.

Wyer's series is subpar (as most modern mysteries would be) when compared with LaPlante's epic Jane Tennison series. Reading this book I kept scratching my head in a "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before" sort of a way, confused that perhaps I had already read this novel (although I had just purchased it).

Although imitation is supposedly the highest form of flattery, in this case stick with the original masterpiece and read (or in my case re-read) and/or watch (ditto re-watch) the delightful Helen Mitten play Jane Tennison in LaPlante's flawless Prime Suspect series (watch it free with Amazon Prime).

Give it a miss

This book was predictable in the who done it area, guessed where it was headed first chapter. The ending was sad and in no way added to story.
