About this ebook

Marianne has a life others dream of. A beautiful townhouse on the best street in the neighbourhood. Three bright children who are her pride and joy.

Sometimes her past still hurts: losing her mother, growing up in foster care. But her husband Simon is always there. A successful surgeon, he’s the envy of every woman they’ve ever met. Flowers, gifts, trips to France – nothing is too good for his family.

Then Simon says another woman’s name. The way he lingers on it, Caroline, gives Marianne a shudder of suspicion, but she knows she can’t entertain this flash of paranoia.

In the old days, she’d have distracted herself at work, but Marianne left her glamorous career behind when she got married. She’d speak to a friend, but she’s too busy with her children and besides, Simon doesn’t approve of the few she has left.

It’s almost by accident that Marianne begins to learn more about Caroline. But once she starts, she can’t stop. Because what she finds makes her wonder whether the question she should be asking is not ‘should she be jealous’, but... ‘should she be scared’?

Fans of The Girl on the Train and I Let You Go looking for a dark, gripping psychological thriller, with a final twist that will put their jaw on the floor, will love Our Little Lies.

This book annoyed me so much. The first half was just the same thing over and over and I found it so hard to like any of the characters except Sophie! To be honest, half way through the book, I tried to Google the ending, with no luck, so then I just skipped to the end of the book. I still needed to know what happened but didn't have the patience to read any more than I had to.

Entertaining enough that I finished it but the first 10 chapters were just the same thoughts repeated constantly. Even when things started to get interesting it was still way more repetative than it needed to be. Unfortunately, of the twists at the end, there was only one I didn't see coming and it wasn't the big one that was supposed to be shocking. I think that this would have worked better as a short story rather than as a novel.

Now where do I begin...What a story! Highly recommend A psychological thriller, Marianne is married to a heart surgeon. She has a beautiful home and 3 beautiful children...what could possibly be wrong. Once you start reading you will understand what could be wrong...her husband Simon, undermines her every chance he gets. He is constantly at her to do this or do that....she can't cook right or she can't fold sofa throws right. He is very controlling and cruel, I automatically hate him from the start... Marianne had a rough life before she married Simon and it comes back to haunt her. She finds herself, one morning after her husband mentions another woman's name, stewing on that woman's name and thinking are they having an affair. Paranoid? Factual? Reading this book you'll discover why Marianne is the way she is and how she is treated by Simon. It's a heartbreaking story and you'll want to strangle Simon half way through it...I know I did. I won't give anything away but by the last couple of chapters I knew what was going to happen and who was going to do it....but then I wasn't 100% postive until the very end... An excellent psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Sue Watson nailed this thriller and it is so different from her previous books...you have found another genre to write Sue Watson. Can't wait for next psychological thriller
