About this ebook

Close your eyes … Just pray you don’t wake up.
A killer stalks the streets of East London. All over the area, murdered young women are discovered, their bodies posed into a sickening recreation of fairytale princesses.

Detective Ruby Preston is determined to hunt down a disturbed individual who is using the women to realise his dark fantasies. But when body parts are found at the home of her lover, Nathan Crosby, Ruby is torn between her job and her heart.

Convinced that he is being framed, Ruby must catch the killer before Nathan becomes the number one suspect. But as more victims are found, it becomes harder to prove his innocence.

As Ruby starts to close in on the twisted individual, can she stop him before he strikes again? And how well does she really know the man she loves?

A terrifying, addictive serial killer thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat, for readers of Angela Marsons, Peter James and Rachel Abbott.

Fairy tales don't always end with a happy ever after .... sometimes it ends with abduction, torture, disfigurement, and death. Young women are found, their bodies posed in various costumes ... Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, etc. The women are girls who walk the streets at night and mostly not missed when they disappear. Detective Ruby Preston is lead investigator and determined to hunt down this serial killer. BUt there's a catch .... her lover for many years and father of her daughter is being framed for these killings. It doesn't help that Nathan walks on the other side ... his family is and has been criminal laden. But sometimes the heart knows who it loves and doesn't care much about anything else. Ruby has kept her relationship under wraps, so as to not jeopardize her job. But each time another girl is found, it becomes that much more difficult to defend Nathan. But there is another suspect ... one who is very, very close ... one who has personally known all these girls. Just how well do you know the people who are closest to you? After reading LOVE YOU TO DEATH, the first of this series, and giving it a 5-star rating, I wasn't sure if Book 2 would live up to my expectations. I should not have worried. This is a terrific series with credible characters. Ruby has issues, but she keeps her eyes on the ball in order to bring justice to the victims. She tries valiantly to keep her personal life separate from her professional life ... it's a salad mix of emotions when a cop and a criminal want to be together. Nathan, although coming from a criminal background and not exactly clean as a whistle himself comes across as more caring than not, and its evident how he feels about Ruby. The serial killer is a human monster. With ties to Nathan and his family, he produces his killings as art projects. He wants his 15 minutes of fame and is determined that people notice his brilliance as he leaves bodies all over East London. There are twists and turns, mostly coming as a surprise. The story premise is riveting and engaging ... I found it hard to put this one down for any length of time. As always, I recommend starting with the first book of the series, although this one does well as a stand alone. Many thanks to the author / Bookouture / Netgalley for the digital copy of this book. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Inhaled this book, even while alone at night and terrified! It would be nice if the cops in London could carry guns but then we wouldn't get to read about badass Sergeant Ruby Preston and her methods of dealing with criminals! We need cops like that in the US!!
