About this ebook

‘They’re lying,’ my little stepson whispers, his blue eyes shining with tears as I tuck him into bed for the first time. ‘They think I’ve forgotten, but I remember everything. I know my mummy is still alive.’

My best friend warned me that it was too soon to marry Edward, a widower with an adorable but troubled little boy.  She said we were moving too fast. But all I could see was a kind, loving man, struggling with grief, who needed my help.

Yet as storm clouds gather above our small wedding ceremony, my hopes and dreams fall apart. None of my husband’s family turn up to support us. Instead of a honeymoon, we have a quiet night in. My wedding bouquet is placed on his first wife’s grave.  And then my new stepson tells me he’s sure his mother is still alive.

What does Noah remember and why is his father trying to make him forget? Have I been completely wrong about my husband? What happened to the woman who came before me, and how far will he go to stop me finding out the truth?

An utterly unputdownable, gripping, twisty psychological thriller, perfect for fans of Before I Go To Sleep, The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl.

I have just found another author to add onto my FAL {favourite author list}. WOW! Just WOW! Gobsmacked by the twist!! really, really, really good. I raced through this brilliant, twist filled book. It was completely engrossing, impossible to put down and the twist floored me. I loved all the characters even the evil Edward and his dastardly daughters who I found were very spoilt. I wanted to throw my arms around little Noah, who I adored, he just wanted to be loved and held by his mum. Lily was a gutsy character and she knew how to get what she wanted, even though she was afraid of Edward towards the end. She only wanted to help Noah come out of his shell and she wanted to know what really happened to Edward's first wife Claire, that's when the twist start to ramp up to full throttle. The plot was brilliant and consistent throughout, it's an unputdownable psychological thrill ride, with a side of mystery, passion and suspense and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and getting to know all the brilliant characters.

My Review: OMG, I was hooked from the very first page!!!!! What a fantastic read this was. I’ve read several books by this author and they were all great. Her books keeps you guessing up until the very end. When you think you know what’s going on, BAM, there’s another twist you never saw coming. I loved everything about this book. All the characters worked so well with each other and made the book what it was. The plot was interesting and each chapter ended with the reader wanting more. The ending was a shocker and left you wondering what the heck just happened. All in all, I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read her next one. Thank you Jess Ryder for such a wonderful book. Between the plot, characters and all the twists in this book it made it an easy and fast read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

BLOG TOUR REVIEW Review for 'The Second Marriage' by Jess Ryder. Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Jess Ryder, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous Publication date 3rd November 2021. This is the third book I have read by this author. I have previously read 'The Night Away' and 'The Girl You Gave Away' which I highly recommend. I was originally drawn to this book by its beautiful eye catching cover and its intriguing synopsis and title. The synopsis stated that this book is 'An utterly unputdownable, gripping, twisty psychological thriller, perfect for fans of Before I Go To Sleep, The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl.' I am a huge fan of 'Gone Girl' and 'Before I Go To Sleep' so am looking forward to seeing if this lives up to this statement. I am also a huge fan of Jess and if this is half as good as 'The Girl You Gave Away' and 'The Night Away' it is sure to be a page turning read. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture. I have yet
