“A son is a son 'til he gets a wife, but a daughter is a daughter all her life. ” Judi is a proud mom to single dad Ben and grandmother to his sons, Noah and Josh. She's been taking care of all 'her boys' since Ben's wife died three years earlier. But then Ben meets Amber, the perfect woman for him. Everyone is happy that Ben has found someone ... everyone except Judi. Judi is very suspicious of Amber. But is there something really there ... or is it that she's afraid Amber will take her place with the family? Ben tries to keep the two women in his life happy. But he doesn't see what his mother sees when it comes to Amber. And as Ben gives over more and more hold to Amber over his two young sons, Judi becomes fearful for them. The further Judi delves into Amber’s personal life, the closer she gets to shocking secrets that could change everything. And Judi must make a decision that could lead to the most disastrous consequences. (from book synopsis) This is a fantastic well written psychological thriller. There are twists and turns that leave the reader breathless and unable to put the book down. The two women of this story are not very likeable. Judi is a controlling person who feels she must keep her family all to herself without regard to what they want. She's suffering extreme menopausal symptoms, but would rather suffer in silence than actually get help in relieving those symptoms. She plays a great martyr. There is something about Amber that just doesn't sit right. She's determined to cut Judi out of Ben's life, as well as her grandsons. She's lied about her past, her family, almost everything in order to gain what she wants. You might ask yourself .. just what is it that she does want? My Review: Wow!!!!! That ending left me shocked and speechless. What lengths a mother will go through to keep her family together. I have read almost all of this authors books now and she never ceases to amaze me. Her books just keep getting better and better. I have not read a bad book by her yet. I do have to say that this read was one of my favorites due to that masterpiece of an ending. I had no clue that was going to happen they way it did. I can’t wait to read more from this author. In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This book was great. Never before have I so thoroughly disliked so many characters at the same time. But that speaks to good writing when a writer can make you feel that way from the word Go! I have to admit I thought I had the twist figured out but I was so wrong. I will have to read it again with the new perspective.
