Jennifer is a doctor, mother, and recent widow. She’s grappling to get her life back on track after her husband is presumed dead after going missing in an avalanche while skiing abroad – with a woman who may have been his mistress. Jen is also pregnant… and she’s pretty sure it isn’t by her late husband, but her recollection of one fateful night is foggy and distressing. It’s hard to say much more without giving away significant plot twists, but wow can Samantha Hayes weave a tale! Once this creepy, slow-burn thriller got going, I couldn’t put it down! The story unfolds from several points of view – Jen, her bestie Rhonda, and a youngster during Jen’s childhood. It wasn’t clear how the “Then” and “Now” were going to come together, and despite my best guesses as a huge fan of the psychological thriller genre, I absolutely did NOT see the ending coming!

“My perfect life… My missing husband… The night I can’t remember…” The Trapped Wife is another stellar read from Samantha Hayes that has you trapped in the pages. consumed in what is a very thrilling story. It is a slow burn to begin with as the foundation is laid out, but Hayes does a great job of keeping you invested and it doesn’t feel too drawn out to when it really kicks in. This well written story has been skilfully plotted and is very multilayered. It keeps you on your toes as its narration moves between multiple points of view through a duel timeline and while it does cover some hard hitting themes, they have been handled extremely well. What I loved the most is how twisted it is and how. each change the direction of the story. Hayes does a fantastic job of deceiving the reader and just as it states on the cover of the book, “Whatever you think you know…You’re wrong…” I really love these types of stories and this one gave me everything and more that I look for in a psychological thriller and just reiterates why I love this genre so much. Hayes is a force to be reckoned with here and has really upped the ante and delivered a compelling read that will blow you away!

This is by far one of the best books I have ever read, it's OMG brilliant. I just can't express how much I loved this book. It doesn't just keep you on the edge of your seat, it floors you with all the shocking twists. It's completely highly addictive and I had to read it in one sitting. I literally could not put it down. From the first page to the last I was gripped. The plot was amazing and the some of the characters were really weird and creepy. Jen the protagonist is just a normal family doctor, who loves her job and cares deeply about her patients, but she has some deep rooted secrets, which are revealed at the end. Trust ne when I say this YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE THE TWISTS AND YOU WILL NOT GUESS THE ENDING! THIS BOOK MUST BE READ BY EVERYONE. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!!! I would like to thank NetGally & Bookoutre for the ARC, I really appreciate it.
