About this ebook

Let the hot Greek sun melt all your troubles away… A laugh-out-loud read full of warmth, joy and summer feeling!

Alice Clark is delighted when her boyfriend Max proposes. From her dead-end job to her straight-up-dead houseplants, her life hasn’t exactly turned out how she imagined, so she can’t wait to start some wedding planning.

But the intimate affair she imagined soon grows wildly out of control, along with Alice’s doubts. Just as things reach breaking point between the couple, Alice’s best friend whisks her away for an escape to a sun-kissed Greek island.

Sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and a cocktail – or three – and Alice soon finds herself letting loose and relaxing into the Greek way of life. When she visits a gorgeous village nestled in the hilltops overlooking the sea, and meets a friendly local woman with a very special business – and a very handsome son – Alice is surprised by how drawn she feels to these people and this life.

As the sun sets on her Greek holiday, Alice knows she has some big decisions to make. Will finding herself mean losing the life she had planned? Or could it be the start of something else entirely?

A feel-good read perfect for fans of Carole Matthews, Jenny Colgan and Sophie Kinsella.

It's been a grey couple of days here at home; a bit windy with showers of rain but I've been loving the sunshine pouring out of this novel! This is a romance with a difference; Alice and Max have been together for quite some time and have wonderful memories of when he proposed whilst they were holidaying in Crete. With their approaching wedding becoming a bigger affair than Alice's dreams, she is happy to jet off on a short 'hen' break with her closest girlfriends to - where else - but the Greek sunshine! Desperate to make the most of their time together, the young women set out on various excursions, one led by the very handsome and sexy Vangelis . . . A lovely, bright read which includes plenty of wonderful details about Greek culture, this is almost as good as a holiday! As with real life, of course, the path of true love never runs smooth and a few cracks appear on the road to happiness. This is, for the most part, a light and happy read with a bit of angst thrown in here and there - after all, who ever has the perfect life? A nicely written, easy read and one which left me with a smile on my face. I'm happy to recommend this one to all lovers of romance with a bit of foreign sunshine thrown in, and well worth all four stars.

Alice and Max will be married soon, and one of her best friends from university has found them a luxury getaway in Greece for the Hen Party. Originally only wanting a spa weekend, Alice is worried about everything: from her own lack of ‘oomph’ and confidence, to her struggles with her mother, and the fact that her friends are constantly teasing her as being “old” and boring. The one thing she knows, without a doubt, is that she loves Max and can’t wait to get married to him: even if his plans for the wedding are far too extravagant and expensive, and she’d like nothing better than to elope to a private ceremony and return to the deed done. But, now that she’s in Greece she’s finding those pieces of her she left behind: the draw to paint, giving serious consideration to opening her own gallery or teach painting to adults - rather than simply work part-time in the shop she’s been at for the past two years, and selling paintings on the internet. A day trip with the girls in Jeeps to explore the off the beaten track spaces, and a connection with the tour operator Vangelis have Alice confused. How can she be attracted to him, spend all night talking with him, and still love Max? Returning to England, she’s found it necessary to share her ‘indiscretion’ with Max, who reacts, predictably, with pouting, silence and staying out all night. Nothing really happened with either - but the fractures in their relationship, and Alice’s unwillingness (or inability) to truly share her concerns about the wedding, her struggles with her mother and her own issues from childhood have to come to the surface before the two realize that theirs is a match meant to be - and everyone can look forward to big changes, big gestures and new opportunities. Full of friendships, heart, family and food - this is a wonderful ‘poolside read’ and sure to leave you with a smile. I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
