About this ebook

Zoe fainted on her wedding day, and she never knew why. She’s always felt sure something bad happened. Ten years later, she’s going to find out what…

It was supposed to be the happiest day of her life. Zoe was sitting in her hotel room, in her perfect white dress, looking forward to the moment when she would make kind, handsome Toby her husband.

Then, there was a blank.

They said she must have fainted, overcome with emotion. But nothing felt quite right afterwards. Did something happen in that missing time?

Now, Toby and Zoe have two beautiful children and a perfect life. They’re planning their ten-year anniversary party for their family and friends. The invitations have been sent, the food ordered. They’re going back to the grand hotel where they got married.

But as the anniversary gets closer, it becomes clear not everyone is looking forward to celebrating. Zoe catches Toby lying about where he’s been. One of her best friends seems to be ignoring her. And someone is spreading stories that might stop the party from happening at all.

Zoe is increasingly sure that she doesn’t have the full story. But does she want to know the truth, if it will destroy everything?

From the million-copy bestselling author, this totally gripping psychological thriller will have you hooked from the first page to the last jaw-dropping twist. Perfect for fans of The Girl on the Train, Gone Girl and The Wife Between Us.

Wow! Another brilliant book by Shalini Boland. If you love psychological thrillers, then ‘The Wife’ has to be on your read list. I love how the mystery unfolded and took me on a memorable journey. Zoe is so ordinary and her life is normal in every way until she starts seeing someone from her past. Shalini skilfully ties this in with the behaviour of everyone around Zoe. I felt the tension and anxiety that was building up within her as the truth closed in. This book was particularly unsettling and had me biting my nails as I raced through it, desperate to know what had been going on. I enjoyed how Zoe’s old school friend, Cassie, came into play, twisting things even further. Zoe’s character was relatable and well written. I enjoyed getting to know her as I read. She could have been a friend or acquaintance, and the hair salon and home settings sealed the authenticity. The characters around her were well fleshed out. ‘The Wife’ is a fantastically fast and immersive read and boy does it pack a big fat punch at the end. Full of surprises and shocks, I can honestly say, I thought it was fabulous!

Thank you to @bookouture, @netgalley, and @shaboland for the early gifted copy of The Wife—it is out today, September 9th! Happy pub day! Zoe faints on her wedding day, and has no recollection of what happened. Ten years later, she and her husband are celebrating their anniversary. But since their wedding day, something has never seemed quite right, and Zoe can’t put her finger on what... Every book I have read by Shalini Boland I have absolutely loved, so I was super excited to be sent this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. The Wife was a perfect domestic suspense thriller, fast paced and full of twists and turns. Many chapters ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, and I often felt compelled to read just one more (okay, three). I ended up finishing this book in just a couple of days—and no spoilers, but the epilogue opens up some questions! If you’re a fan of domestic suspense, pick up this one today!

4⭐️ for me! I thoroughly enjoyed The Wife. It’s a suspenseful story that keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering how things will play out! Zoe comes to on her wedding day, with no recollection of how she fainted or what happened immediately prior. Flash forward 10 years, happily married, & 2 kids later - she starts to remember bits and pieces of her wedding day and things are not as they seem. I like the writing style and the flashbacks between now and then. This story kept me wanting more and trying to figure out how it would end. I have to say I was surprised with the ending and wouldn’t have guessed how it would wrap up. I loved that the epilogue wrapped up with a different character’s perspective (no spoiler here) - but that was an awesome little twist! Will there be a sequel? I hope so! I look forward to reading more books by this author! Thanks to Shalini Boland, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest review!
