Shalini never fails to tug at the emotional heart strings while placing the reader in what feels like a high octane situation. After a banging start, the pace remains fast with a race against time to find little Beatrice. I found my heart pounding at times; after all, a missing child is every parent’s nightmare. I literally couldn’t put this book down. It had me waking up in the night and picking it straight back up to read a few more chapters. I simply had to know what had happened. The writing is slick and the chapters are snappy which made it even harder to put down. As far as the relationships in the story were concerned, I really enjoyed the growth between Claire and Jill. The emotions running between them felt so realistic and I could see each characters points of view. As for what had happened to Beatrice, I had so many theories but I didn’t manage to guess it. I’d definitely recommend’My Little Girl.’ That ending was a shocker!

My Review: Another fabulous read by the fabulous Shalini Boland. In my book she is the Queen of psychological thrillers. She has been writing these kind of books since 2016 and I finally only have a few more to read by her. She has been on my top favorite author list for years. I can’t wait to read more by her so she better get to writing. This book was a about a mother and her mother in law who would stop at nothing to find their precious daughter and granddaughter. Did the child run off? Was she kidnapped? Who could have taken her? Are they ever going to get her back? You find out these answers and so much more by the end if the book. I absolutely loved this book along with all the other books I’ve read by this author. She is one of my all time favorite writers. This book really grabbed me from the start. Who doesn’t love a good kidnapping story. I felt so bad for the grandmother since she was the one looking after her granddaughter when everything went down. The grandmother did rise to the occasion though and showed everyone that she can save the day. I loved how each chapter alternated with different people. It kept the story really moving along and gave the readers insight to all the characters not just one. I love that in books. Now on to that shocking ending. Shalini Boland proved to be the Queen with that ending. I couldn’t believe it in a million years. Then to find it why on top of that, OMG. This book was such a treat. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning opening presents. I will definitely be reading more of this authors books. Between the plot, characters and all the twists in this book it made it an easy and fast read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

A gripping and twisty page-turner from the queen of psychological thrillers! I get so excited whenever I hear that a new book is coming out by Shalini. She is one of my go-to authors and I have thoroughly enjoyed every book I’ve ever read by her. I think I can quite confidently say that I would read her books without even reading the blurb! Jill is thrilled when she gets to take her granddaughter to the funfair. The fact that her son Oliver trusts her is a huge thing and the perfect chance to prove to him and his wife Claire, that she is quite capable of caring for their darling Beatrice. Is she though? Whilst having fun in the house of mirrors Beatrice disappears! Jill claims that she didn’t take her eyes off of her and that she vanished in the blink of an eye. With no witnesses or sightings of the young girl, things really aren’t making much sense. Surely if she were abducted, somebody would have seen something! The story is told from the perspectives of Jill, the unreliable grandmother and Claire, the worried mother, with occasional chapters by an un-named character. The chapters are short and enthralling, each one making you think ‘oh go on just one more.’ We follow Claire, Oliver and Jill as they try to find Beatrice with the police, and at times without! With twists galore, this book held my attention from start to finish. I didn’t trust a single character, suspecting everyone from the fairground staff to the old lady next door! Very well written and cleverly plotted this book is a hugely addictive read. I think I thought of about ten scenarios of what happened to Beatrice and I wasn’t right with any of them! I really love it when a book keeps you guessing and this one does just that. An awesome thriller with a compelling opening hook and a nail-biting, action-packed ending.
