About this ebook

The tent door flutters in the warm breeze, opening towards the silent woods beyond. A silk eye mask lies on top of the empty sleeping bag, blood-red spots ruining the cream fabric…

When a woman disappears from Forest Pines campsite, Detective Morgan Brookes scrambles a search party. Sara Fletcher has never missed a lunch date with her best friend and when Morgan finds a large rip in Sara’s tent, she knows that something terrible must have happened. About to lose hope after hours combing through the acres of dense forest, the excited bark of a tracker dog leads Morgan to female remains, partially covered by leaves and dirt – but the bones don’t belong to Sara.

Morgan trawls through missing persons files until she finds three cold cases with chilling similarities – three other victims dating back twenty years who were taken from campsites while they slept, by a killer the police called the Travelling Man. The post-mortems indicate he kept them alive for 72 hours, meaning every second is crucial to find Sara alive.

Morgan’s team is terrified that this twisted murderer has returned. But Morgan also can’t ignore the fact that a merciless killer from her own past has recently escaped from prison… Could they be chasing the wrong man? If she’s correct, how deep will she have to dig to save Sara and other innocent women like her before time runs out for them all?

A completely unputdownable, heart-in-your-mouth crime thriller. Fans of Angela Marsons, Lisa Regan and Rachel Abbott will be glued to the page!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a digital advanced reader copy of this book. The opinions expressed below are my own and were not requested or required. August 1997 a single woman goes to a campsite and sets up on the border of the fenced off forest, she is taken into the woods and tied to a tree. Present day, Morgan is called to the campsite where a camper has gone missing, near the edge of the woods, her tent torn from the back and drops of blood inside. This is the 5th in the Morgan Brookes series, and I LOVED it. This is one of my favorite series and as soon as I finish reading it, I can't wait for the next one to be released. I spent probably the last half wondering and hoping that Morgan wasn't going to get herself in trouble the way she always seems too. Of course, trouble finds her no matter how careful she is or who she is surrounded by. There were some intense moments. The relationship between Morgan and Ben although obvious to EVERYONE around them just doesn't seem to make itself known to them, yet. Also, I would like to say that Declan is probably my favorite person in all the detective series I have read. He is so caring and compassionate to the victims. I absolutely love him.

First Girl to Die is a roller coaster, nail bitter of a read that will keep the lights on to the final page. A girl is missing from the local campground and a skeleton has also been found. Could this be a serial killer. Ben, Morgan and team are racing against the clock to try and find the missing girl. Morgan we need to talk. You take too many chances but that's what makes Morgan so special. Every book in this series ramps up the tension and Find the Girl is no exception. Put this book/series on the top of your TBR pile , walk the dog before you start reading and sit back and enjoy. Can't wait for Book 6 !

BLOG TOUR REVIEW Review for 'Find The Girl' by Helen Phifer. Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Helen Phifer, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous Publication date 19th January 2021. This is the sixth book I have read by this author. It is also the fifth book in the 'Detective Morgan Brookes' series but can be read as a standalone. I have previously read 'First Girl To Die' (book 4 in this series), 'The Hiding Place' (book 3 in this series) , 'The Girl In The Lake' (book 2 in the 'Beth Adams series),' The Killer's Girl' (book 2 in this series) or 'One Left Alive' (the first book in this series) which I also recommend anyone read. I was originally drawn to this book by its eye catching cover and its intriguing synopsis and title. The synopsis stated that this book is 'An absolutely heart-stopping and unputdownable crime thriller, perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Lisa Regan and Rachel Abbott.' I am a huge fan of all three of this authors so am looking forward to
