About this ebook

An innocent girl is taken. The killer confesses.

But that’s not the whole story. That’s not even the beginning...

It’s 1985 and the disappearance of twelve-year-old Lisa Cook shocks the nation. Her best friend, Kirsty, traumatised and fearful, gives evidence that helps to put the Cook family’s lodger behind bars.

…But what if Kirsty made a mistake?

Now, decades later, Kirsty leaves a life she loves to move back to the hometown she hates – tortured by her memories, she’s determined to finally uncover the truth about what happened to Lisa that day. But someone is waiting for her there, someone close to her family. Someone who is hoping to finish off a job that was started years ago…

An absolutely gripping emotional drama for fans of The Couple Next Door, Whisper Me This and Laura Elliot.

Another British author and another waste of time! OMG, this was so horrible I didn't even get halfway through. Very dry, no plot, storylines that have nothing to do with the purpose of the story. I HATE British writers! I looked for "about author" before purchasing this book and did not see one. If I had known this was a British writer I would not have wasted my money

Wow, Frances Vick is my new favorite author!!!What a great book this was!!! I can’t say enough good things about this book!!! This book was about a woman’s quest to find out the truth about her best friends death from when she was a child. She was not convinced they had the right person. This woman will stop at nothing to find out the truth. One thing I loved about this book was the main character Kirsty who cant get over her friends death was very passive at the beginning but got brave by the end in order to find out the truth. I also liked Angela/Marie as well because as the reader you were always try to figure out if you could trust her or not. The characters really made this this book. I also loved the plot. The plot made this book an easy and fast read. It was so enjoyable throughout the whole book. There were so many twists and turns that left you guessing on who to trust and who really killed Lisa. Overall, I would give this book five hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
