4.5⭐ Detectives Kane and Alton are back, and at book nine the series is showing no signs of getting stale or repetitive. With a story that had me hooked from the start, as the team is on the hunt for a serial killer who likes to freeze victims and display them around Black Rock Falls as works of art. And with a killer who kept me guessing, the most macabre crime scenes yet and the ongoing friendship/relationship between Jenna and Dave this story really was a page turning thrill ride. That I would happily recommend to others.

It's just another day ...or so .. in the life of Sheriff Jenna Alton and Deputy David Kane. The first body found is that of a woman ... she's frozen and she's hanging from a tree. When Alton and Kane investigate, they find this is only the beginning. There are multiple burial sites nearby. Who are these women? There are no missing women reports ..so where have they come from? And how did they get here? When Alton and Kane are thwarted time and time again, the killer seems to be able to stay two steps ahead of them. The killer might be closer than they think ... and that puts Alton in the cross hairs. As with all the book in series, this is well written, suspense filled thriller. The action is non- stop and filled with twists and turns that swirl around the solidly drawn characters. Although 9th in the series, this is easily read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend starting at the beginning. The ongoing character development is superb and the crimes are riveting. Many thanks to the author / Bookouture / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Alton and Kane are out skiing at the Glacial Heights Ski resort near Black Rock Falls when Kane comes across dismembered body parts hanging from the trees. Seems there is another killer in town. Soon there is another body. But how many has the 'Preacher' killed over the years. To complicate matters it would seem that Kane has a stalker. Another enjoyable and well-written murder mystery with its cast of varied and interesting characters. Another fine edition to the series
