About this ebook

Grey clouds gather overhead as she runs along the dark road. Not a soul is out in the storm, or so she thinks. As the vehicle pulls up alongside her, she sees a familiar face behind the wheel and thinks she’s safe. Little does she know, she has just put herself in unthinkable danger…

When local cheerleader, Laurie Turner, goes missing after practice and her bright red pick-up truck is found abandoned by the side of a quiet road, Detective Jenna Alton fears the worst.

Visiting Laurie’s family house, Jenna senses that the teenager’s home life isn’t as perfect as her father would have people believe. Quick to temper and full of hatred towards Laurie’s mother, Dr Turner doesn’t seem to know the first thing about his own daughter, let alone how long she’s been missing for.

With the clock ticking, the whole town takes to the streets to find the missing girl and, after a frantic search, a terrible discovery is made at the bottom of an old mine shaft on the outskirts of town. Laurie’s pale body is totally still and Jenna is sure somebody in the local community is her killer.

When another cheerleader goes missing, Jenna thinks that someone close to the school is picking the teenagers off one by one. As she talks to the other students, it becomes clear that there are plenty of people who’d like to silence the girls forever.

Then her own deputy David Kane comes face to face with the murderer, and Jenna has to race to save him. Can she do so before it’s too late? Or will another young life be taken?

If you enjoy Lisa Regan, Melinda Leigh and Kendra Elliot, you will love this unputdownable crime thriller from USA Today bestselling author D.K. Hood.

Laurie Turner, a high school cheerleader, didn't make it home after a run. Her truck is found abandoned by the side of the road. Her body is later found at the bottom of an old mine shaft. Laurie won't be the only cheerleader who disappears. Detective Jenna Alton begins her investigation with a interview with her family. When Laurie's father seems to know nothing about her ... not when she went missing .. not she was wearing ... doesn't know her friends. He just seems .. disinterested. Turning to Laurie's fellow students she finds that there are plenty of people who want to silence the cheerleaders forever. And then someone close to Jenna falls victim to the murderer. As with all the books in this series, this is well-written with an intriguing plot and compelling story line. This one is just a tad different, as a new Deputy is introduced and at the same time, bringing back some old FBI friends. I appreciate how this series has not grown stale and always holds the readers' attention. The characters are solidly drawn and I really enjoy the blend of the professional lives with the personal. I like how they all interact with each other. The suspense starts from the first page and escalates until the unexpected conclusion. Although 11th in the series, this is easily read as a stand alone, as are each of the books. The author has made sure to include enough information so that you don't get lost, but nothing that would take away the enjoyment of reading prior books. Many thanks to the author / Bookouture / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Be Mine Forever is book 11 in D.K. Hood's Detectives Kane and Alton series, and my first introduction to the characters and author. And what a great introduction it was. As this was a well-written and crafted story. That was packed full of suspense, twists, and turns not to mention it genuinely kept me guessing. Furthermore, the protagonists were wildly intriguing and engaging, and I was completely hooked throughout. And I can safely say I will be checking out the earlier books in this series as soon as possible. Would happily recommend. **I was kindly provided with an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

Addicted! Addicted to this series. Treat yourself! Buy the book, or go to your library. Creepy,. psychotic and they are teenagers! I kept waffling on the killers which is an added bonus for me! I love a book that has me second guessing and making sure my toes don't peak put from the blanket! Twists and sub plots in this one, I was so glad when justice prevailed on one! Heart wrenching moments through out. A book that also ties me to its characters, makes me care, makes me feel at home, no.no.no I do not have any tendencies, but I have watched Jenna and Dave develop, come to love Wolfe and his children. Rowley a married man and soon to be a dad. Savoring over some of Nans food. Getting to know Jo and Caleb our pop in FBI team and now we have another new character, Rio. I cannot wait for book 12, see how everyone continues to grown and change. Thank you DK Hood, Bookouture and Net Galley for the arc and the fantastic read. All thoughts and opinions are my own which I freely share.
