About this ebook

Her eyes fluttered open as the first splash of frigid water crashed through the open window beside her. She shook her head, startled to be awake—to be alive. She was in her car, in the river. She blinked, tried to focus. And then it came back to her. He’d tried to kill her…

One month since she lost her husband, Dr Leah Wright knows it’s time to return to her family home. Though the crime scene tape and blood stains are gone, she will never feel safe with her daughter there again. Receiving a call from Detective Luka Jericho to assist with a police investigation is a welcome distraction, until she sees the scene: a wife dead, another family ripped apart.

As Leah is the new head of the Crisis Intervention Center, Luka knows she can help him speak to the victim’s traumatized husband, who he suspects might have had something to do with his wife’s death. But when Leah interviews the woman who lives across the hall, they uncover evidence of a serial killer in their rural Pennsylvania town. The same person who claims responsibility for drowning Luka’s fiancée seventeen years ago…

With danger closer to home than ever before, Leah realises that to find the killer they may need to dig into Luka’s past. But the killer is already taunting Luka, promising to kill again. Is it already too late to save another innocent life?

Brilliantly suspenseful until the very last page, The Drowned Woman is perfect for fans of Karin Slaughter, Kendra Elliot and Tess Gerritsen. An addictive new thriller in the Jericho and Wright crime series from New York Times bestselling author CJ Lyons.

A woman is dead but was it an accident or murder!!Luka Jericho is a police detective in charge of the case. He’s also raising his nephew after the death of his sister. Leah Wright is a consultant for the police department after the murder of her husband. Edgy suspense full of twists and shocking revelations. It really does grab you from the very beginning. Just the perfect combination of medical and crime thriller. Nate and Emily’s friendship is one of the best parts of the story. “Yeah.” Nate glanced down the hall to where Luka and Ruby waited. “But I can’t ask Luka to fight my fights for me.” “Then it’s up to us.” Emily wrapped her arm in his. “We just have to be brave and strong.”

Attention grabber, sucking you in right away. The plot was TERRIFIC with lots of suspense, great main characters (Leah & Luka) & very well written. This police procedural kept you guessing throughout. First time reading this author but have now purchased #1 in this series, The Next Widow. RECOMMEND highly. Thanks to NetGalley & Bookouture for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.(Sue Colley)

4.25⭐ The Drowned Woman is the second book featuring Jericho and Wright, but you certainly don't need to have read the first to pick this one up, as I haven't and even after a slow start I enjoyed it immensely. Thanks to plenty of twists, a great duo in Detective Sergeant Jericho and Dr Wright, and a second half that I simply couldn't put down. However, I did figure out early on who the serial killer dubbed, “Chaos” was. Yet, that didn't stop me enjoying the ride this story took me on or appreciating the red herrings along the way, which I'll be honest at one point did have me second guessing. And I would happily recommend The Drowned Woman to others and will certainly be looking out for more from Jericho and Wright in the future. **I was kindly provided with an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**
