Jennifer Hunt, previously Publishing Executive, has been promoted to the role of Commissioning Editor and Emily Gowers, previously Editorial Assistant at Headline, will join the company as Publishing Executive.
Hunt joined Bookouture in March 2017, having previously worked at literary agency LAW, and in her first year at Bookouture, acquired her own authors including Dylan Young and Vikki Patis. As a commissioning editor, Hunt will build her own list of commercial fiction titles, as well as further develop her existing authors.
Hunt will report to Associate Publisher Kathryn Taussig as part of the editorial team headed by Publisher Jenny Geras.
Hunt said,
The team at Bookouture are incredibly forward-thinking, creative and endlessly supportive, and I’m thrilled to be joining the ranks of fantastic editors here. I can’t wait to work with some brilliant new authors and add more bestsellers to our list.
Publishing Executive Emily Gowers will report to Associate Publisher Isobel Akenhead, who joined the company last year from Kobo, and will work closely with her and Commissioning Editor Helen Jenner.
Akenhead said,
I’m delighted to have someone as digital savvy and passionate about commercial fiction as Emily joining our team. She feels like a perfect fit for the Bookouture team, and I am sure will thrive in our creative, forward-thinking business.
Gowers said,
