Chase was previously published by Choc Lit.

The new series follows investigative journalist Tara Thorpe as she teams up with Detective Garstin Blake to solve the murder of a young female professor at Cambridge University. The case will take them through the dark underbelly of Cambridge and in to the murky fenland that surround the centuries-old city.

The first book, Murder on the Marshes, will publish in July 2018, with two further titles scheduled for 2018-2019.

Kathryn Taussig said,

I love character-driven crime with a really compelling setting, and Murder on the Marshes has that and more. Clare is a superb writer with a real feel for her characters. This series is going to be atmospheric, creepy and really gripping. I’m so looking forward to publishing it.

Clare Chase said,

I’m hugely excited to be joining Bookouture as I begin my new crime series set in Cambridge. From the outset I knew I’d found the perfect home for this venture. Talking to Kathryn Taussig about the direction of the mysteries – and my two main characters, journalist Tara Thorpe and police detective Garstin Blake – left me feeling inspired about the future. I can’t wait to work more closely with her and the rest of the Bookouture team.

We’d love you to join in the celebrations over at Facebook and Twitter.
