Lydia Vassar Smith has acquired World All Language Rights from Marianne Gunn O’Connor to The Island Girls by Noelle Harrison, the story of two sisters, torn apart by tragedy, on a remote island off the east coast of America.

Lydia said, ‘As soon as I started reading Noelle’s beautiful writing I knew I had to sign her up.  Her writing is emotive and raw and whisked me away to a tiny island of towering pines, lobster traps and one unforgettable pair of sisters.  The Island Girls feels like an absolute bestseller and I am thrilled to be working with Noelle.’
Noelle said,
‘The Island Girls is a story I feel passionate about as it delves into the bonds between two sisters. Slipping between generations it explores themes of love, loss, longing and redemption against the backdrop of the extreme beauty and wilderness of a remote island off the east coast of America. I am thrilled to be working with Lydia Vassar Smith and Bookouture to create a novel rich with resonance for its readers.’
