Bookouture sign new contracts with Tilly Tennant and Shirley Dickson

Bookouture are delighted to announce that they have signed for a further three books with Tilly Tennant, marking ten years of working together! Associate Publisher Lydia Vassar-Smith acquired World English Language rights from Hannah Todd at Janklow and Nesbit.

Lydia says,

‘Ten years fly by when you work with an author who is as professional and engaging as Tilly. She has whisked me away to some gorgeous seaside settings, the cosiest Christmas cottages and most recently to the Lake District with a much-loved village nurse and midwife. Tilly is a warm, imaginative and talented writer and I am so looking forward to working with her on more books.’

Tilly says,

‘It’s no exaggeration when I say signing with Bookouture changed my life! I’m so grateful for the past ten years, and for the friendship and support of my editor Lydia and all the incredible people I’ve collaborated with on my books during that time. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together, and I could never have imagined, when I put my name to that first contract, that almost a decade later I’d have a career and colleagues that bring me so much joy. I’m excited to write the next three stories and to see where we can take our readers next!’

Hannah says,

‘I’m so delighted that Tilly will have more books coming with Lydia and the whole Bookouture team. It’s a testament to such a strong relationship and excellent publishing that this is their tenth year working together and I’m so excited to see what comes in their next years together!’

We are also thrilled to announce that Bookouture have acquired two new novels from author Shirley Dickson. Commissioning Editor Cerys Hadwin-Owen acquired World All Languages rights, including audio, film and TV.

Shirley says,

‘I couldn’t be more thrilled to be publishing two more books with the supportive and dedicated team at Bookouture. Thank you, my books are immensely improved by your input. I feel especially fortunate to be working with my brilliant editor, Cerys, as her suggestions and guidance have been invaluable.’

Cerys says,

I’m absolutely delighted to be adding two more of her titles to our list, with the first of those a historical fiction novel scheduled to publish in 2026. Shirley creates her characters with such feeling, and the immersive world she constructs for them stays with you long after you finish the story. We can’t wait for even more readers to discover Shirley’s writing, and I’m over the moon to be working on these page-turning new titles with her.’
