We are delighted to share the news that Publishing Director Kathryn Taussig has acquired World rights for two novels from Jo Bell at Bell Lomax Moreton by debut author Carly Schabowski.

The Ringmaster’s Daughter and The Watchmaker of Dachau are both epic, moving historical novels based on astonishing true stories of the Second World War.

Carly Schabowski said,

‘Not only am I delighted to be collaborating with the supportive team at Bookouture, I feel privileged to be given the opportunity to pursue my passion of writing WWII historical fiction. This story is centred around survival, human suffering, and the finding of love within the backdrop of the desperate and uncertain times of 1940s Europe. The passion for this story to be told is reflected by the team, in particular Kathryn Taussig, who has been its champion since the very beginning.’

Kathryn Taussig said,

‘From the moment I first read Carly’s writing I knew that she had a very special talent. Her ability to create nuanced, realistic characters and paint beautiful descriptions with her words brings the history is she writing about to life. I feel very privileged to get the chance to publish these two novels and I know Carly’s future readers are going to adore them.
