Bookouture recontracts bestsellers D’Silva, Carey and Goldring

13 December 2023

We’ve over the moon to say that we have a new novel coming from Amazon bestseller Renita D’Silva! Commissioning Editor Maisie Lawrence has acquired World All Languages rights in a new psychological thriller about an idyllic family holiday in Goa that turns into a nightmare when a young boy vanishes.

Maisie said,

‘Renita is such an inventive and hard-working author and I’m so thrilled to be publishing this thriller with her. Her ability to bring families to life is truly extraordinary and I loved reading this twisty and gripping novel. Working with Renita is an honour and a gift and I can’t wait to explore this new direction with her. Her readers always adore her stories and I know they will love this new book!’

Renita said,

‘I’m so excited to be signing a new contract with Bookouture. Maisie and all the team at Bookouture have been wonderful, making sure my books are the best they can be and I am thrilled to be publishing this book with them. Maisie always goes above and beyond, giving her best and more besides, and it is an absolute pleasure and honour to work with her and the amazing Bookouture team on this new book.;

Commissioning Editor Maisie Lawrence has also acquired World All Languages rights in three sweeping historical novels from US Kindle bestseller Ella Carey. The first will publish in 2024 and the next two in 2025.

Maisie said,

‘It’s a real honour to be Ella’s editor. She has the most extraordinary gift for bringing both wonderful places and historical periods to life. Every time I read one of her novels, I’m utterly transported in both time and place. I’m delighted to be continuing Ella’s incredible Italian series with this new contract and to be working together again. I’m in awe of her ability to tell such beautiful, touching and gripping stories that truly stay in my heart forever. I can’t wait to thrust these new novels into her readers’ hands – I know they will be enchanted!

Ella said,

‘I’m delighted to be working with my editor, Maisie. Maisie is a brilliant, talented editor who encourages me to push my boundaries, and I wouldn’t be without her. Writing these books set in Italy has been fascinating for me. I live in a country where we are surrounded by wonderful Italian food, and culture, but I don’t think I appreciated what the Italians went through during the war before I researched these novels, and this has given me a whole new empathy, respect and love for that country and its people. I am thrilled to be working on these special books with the wider team at Bookouture and can’t wait to share them with my readers.

We are also delighted to announce that we have signed two more books from historical fiction bestselling author Suzanne Goldring. Associate Publisher Lydia Vassar-Smith acquired World All Language rights from Heather Holden-Brown at HHB Agency.

Lydia said,

‘Working with Suzanne is such a joy. Through her brilliant writing she brings history alive through vivid characters and compelling heart-breaking plots. I’m so pleased to be working with her on more books’.

Suzanne said,

‘I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to explore more extraordinary stories from WW2. I thoroughly enjoy working with Lydia and the whole Bookouture team as they encourage me to bring dusty research to life.’
