Bookouture re-signs bestsellers Copperthwaite and Spangler
We’re absolutely delighted to say that Commissioning Editor Maisie Lawrence has acquired World All Languages rights in a new psychological thriller from USA Today bestselling author Barbara Copperthwaite publishing in 2025.
A group of old friends gather for a party in a villa in Spain, but it all goes wrong when the birthday girl is found dead. Did one of them kill her, and who will be next?
‘As soon as Barbara told me about her idea for a psychological thriller with such a stunning setting and killer hook, I was incredibly keen to publish it! I love her exceedingly twisty plans for the characters and I can’t wait to be swept away to the villa where it will all go wrong. I’ve so enjoyed working with Barbara already and I couldn’t be more honoured to publish this new book with her. Barbara’s many fans adore her ability to craft unputdownable stories and to throw in a last OMG twist. I can’t wait!‘
‘Maisie Lawrence has been so enthusiastic from the moment she heard my idea, and her support has been wonderful. I am really looking forward to working with her – I’m certain we’ll make a great team. It’s exciting to be back under Bookouture’s wing for my new psychological thriller.‘
We are delighted to announce a new two book deal with B.R. Spangler. Associate Publisher, Claire Simmonds, agreed the World All Languages deal for two books in a gripping dystopian fiction series that will publish in August 2024.
‘It is so exciting to be working on this brilliant series with Brian, and thrilling to be venturing into a new genre with him on the Second Sky list. These novels are every bit as gripping as his pulse-racing police procedural series, and I can’t wait for readers to be utterly hooked by them.’
‘I am over-the-moon excited to publish with Second Sky and for the amazing opportunity to bring new readers to an absolute favorite story of mine. I’m also thrilled to work with such an amazing team at Second Sky and the very talented Claire Simmonds and Jen Shannon.’
