Lydia Vassar-Smith, Associate Publisher, has acquired two new thrillers from eBook bestseller Jess Ryder in a deal for World English Language rights including audio with Rowan Lawton of Furniss Lawton.

Ryder’s Kindle top 5 success The Ex Wife was a huge hit for Bookouture selling 150,000 copies to date and featuring as one of Audible’s best-selling audio books of the year.

Lydia Vassar-Smith said,

Jess Ryder is an author like no other, an incredible plotter and creator of vividly real characters in darkly domestic settings. We are delighted to continue publishing her.

Jess Ryder said,

What an amazing journey this is turning out to be. Huge thanks to Bookouture for re-commissioning me and for being such an intelligent and supportive publisher.

Publisher Jenny Geras has acquired two new psychological thrillers by Victoria Jenkins from Anne Williams at the Kate Hordern Literary Agency. Jenkins is the author of the bestselling Detectives King and Lane series, and her first standalone psychological thriller THE DIVORCE will be publishing this June. The first book in the new contract will follow in December 2019, and the next in June 2020.
Jenny Geras said,

I’m absolutely delighted to have two more books coming from Victoria. The King and Lane series has thrilled and gripped thousands of readers and I know that Victoria’s psychological thrillers will do just the same thing this year.

Victoria Jenkins said,

I am thrilled to be continuing to work with Jenny and with Bookouture. King and Lane have had a great response from readers and I am excited to be working on something new and different that I hope will be just as popular.

And Associate Publisher Natasha Harding has acquired World All Language rights including audio, film and TV for two brand new psychological thrillers by bestselling author Alison James.

Natasha said,

Alison James burst onto the scene as an exciting new voice in crime thriller books last year. She already has three cracking police procedural novels under her belt, featuring maverick Detective Rachel Prince, and was nominated for The McIlvanney Prize in 2018. I’m incredibly thrilled to be publishing two new psychological fiction novels by Alison James. She’s an inspiration to work with and her writing is slick, pacey with shocker twists. Readers are guaranteed to be gripped by these books!

Alison said,

I’m excited to be taking my writing in a fresh direction in 2019, and delighted to be supported in this by Bookouture, who I know will do a brilliant job with the new thrillers.

Please do join in the celebrations on Facebook and Twitter.
