Bookouture re-sign more books from your favourite fiction authors

We are super excited today to share the fabulous news that we have re-signed contracts with some of your favourite Bookouture authors.

Isobel Akenhead has acquired world rights to Karen King’s next heart-warming, feel-good Christmas novel – SINGLE ALL THE WAY which will publish in October 2019.

Set just before Christmas it tells the story of a mother and daughter who break up with their husbands at the same time. Escaping to a remote cottage in Cornwall together, they start to repair their hearts. But who will find happiness, and who will find their way home?

Isobel said,

Like so many readers, I absolutely love Karen’s warm, emotional, romantic writing style and I am so thrilled to be working with her again. I think this book has huge potential and will speak to mothers and daughters everywhere.

Karen said,

I’m so delighted to be published by Bookouture again. Isobel is a fantastic editor to work with, her enthusiasm for my ideas is so encouraging and her editorial advice is always spot on. I’m particularly delighted to be setting another Christmas book in Cornwall, a place that is so close to my heart, and to explore the special mother-daughter relationship that is at the heart of my novel. I hope that readers enjoy it as much as they enjoyed Snowy Nights at the Lonely Hearts Hotel.

We will also be publishing two more hilarious romantic comedies by Sophie Ranald. Christina Demosthenous acquired World All Language rights to two new novels from Araminta Whitley at The Soho Agency, to be published in 2020.

Christina said,

It has been such a thrill publishing Sorry Not Sorry, which has been a runaway bestseller for us ever since it published. Sophie’s writing is smart, sassy and makes me spit out my tea with laughter whenever I’m editing it, and I cannot wait to blow away her fans with more fantastic books.

Sophie said,

Working with Bookouture over the past 12 months has been an absolute delight. The support I’ve received from Christina and the rest of the team has been amazing, and the strong sales of Sorry Not Sorry are testament to their hard work and expert knowledge of the market. I’m thrilled to be working with them on two more novels following the release of It’s Not You, It’s Him in June.

We will also be publishing two more novels by Drew Davies. Christina Demosthenous acquired World English Language rights to two women’s fiction novels from Hattie Grunewald at Blake Friedmann, to be published in 2020 and 2021.

Christina said,

Drew’s writing is hilarious, heartfelt, and utterly unique. His high-concept novels have won over his fans with their delightful quirkiness, and I cannot wait to unleash these gorgeous gems to the world!

Drew said,

Wow, what can I say – just to be nominated is such an honour, but to win… What? I didn’t win an award? I don’t know, most enthusiastic newcomer or something? Oh I see, the announcement! Where to begin? Christina is one of the smartest people I’ve ever had the privilege of working with. The team at Bookouture is an author’s dream. I can’t wait to write my next two books – and maybe, just maybe, I’ll win an award for most enthusiastic newcomer one day after all!
