Bookouture re-sign contracts with Howes, Page and Taylor
We are delighted to announce that Bookouture has re-signed contracts with authors Pam Howes, Lizzie Page and Sandy Taylor.
Commissioning Editor Maisie Lawrence has secured a World All Languages deal for eight historical sagas by Pam Howes. As part of the deal, Maisie snapped up five of Pam’s books which were originally published between 2010–2014. Bookouture will give the series a makeover, with new packaging and targeted marketing to help these gripping novels, which tell the remarkable story of a family across five decades, reach a whole new audience. Maisie also acquired a new three-book historical saga series set during World War Two. The first book will publish in 2024.
Maisie says,
‘I feel incredibly lucky to work with Pam, one of the very best saga writers around and an outstanding storyteller. I’m over the moon to have so many more books coming from her, including five more this year which we’ll be publishing on one day! I know Pam’s many loyal readers and her new fans will love having the whole series available at once and I’m delighted to be a part of this fabulous publishing programme. And I’m thrilled to be launching a brilliant new trilogy with her in 2024 too. Saga fans are in for an absolute treat!’
Pam says,
‘I’m absolutely delighted to be working with Maisie again on a whole new wartime saga trilogy and the revamped versions of the first series I ever wrote; a series that is so close to my heart, my teenage years and my hometown. I know that there are many ‘sixties chicks and chaps’ out there who will relive their youth through my madcap characters and their antics.’
We are thrilled to announce that we will be publishing three more books in a brand-new series from bestselling historical fiction author Lizzie Page. Associate Publisher Claire Simmonds acquired World English rights from Thérèse Coen at Susanna Lea Associates.
Claire says,
‘Working with Lizzie is such a delight, and I could not be more thrilled to have acquired this brilliant new series! Through her stunning storytelling Lizzie creates the richest of worlds, full of engaging and memorable characters that as a reader you can’t help but fall head over heels for. I cannot wait for Lizzie’s readers to discover this new series which I know they are going to absolutely adore.’
Lizzie says,
‘I’m thrilled to have signed a contract for three more books with my favourite publisher, Bookouture. I have loved every bit of ‘The Orphanage’ series and I hope readers will enjoy my new series about evacuated daughters – and their mothers – during and after the war. This is a subject that’s always been close to my heart and I’m absolutely delighted that the wonderful Claire Simmonds will be working with me to bring the books out in 2024.’
Publishing Director Natasha Harding has agreed a World English book deal, plus audio, with bestselling author Sandy Taylor, via her agent Kate Hordern of the Kate Hordern Literary Agency.
Natasha says,
‘I am overjoyed to be publishing another novel by Sandy Taylor! Her writing is full of warmth and humour, brimming with wonderful characters that feel like old friends. The Irish Boarding House has been a huge success and we can’t wait for readers to find out what happens next to Mary Kate at 24 Merrion Square.’
Sandy says,
‘I’m so pleased to be continuing my relationship with Bookouture, who have been a wonderful publishing home for me since 2015. I’m very excited about their publication of the sequel to The Irish Boarding House, and to be working with the team.‘
Kate says,
‘I’m delighted with this new Sandy Taylor deal with Bookouture, whose publishing I much admire.’
