Bookouture re-sign contracts with historical fiction authors Harrison and Hewitt
We are delighted to share that Commissioning Editor Maisie Lawrence has acquired world all language rights for three books from Suzette D. Harrison. Her new books will publish in 2025 and 2026 and include a novel about Bridget “Biddy” Mason’s journey to freedom and a story about a baby who was stolen from her parents in the 1930s.
Maisie says,
‘Suzette is such a stunning writer who I am truly honoured to be working with at Bookouture. I’m absolutely in awe of her incredibly emotional and gripping stories and truly over the moon to be working on new books together. I know I’ll be in floods when I work with her on these stories and I can’t wait for readers to fall in with them too.‘
Suzette says,
‘It’s a blessing to be working, yet again, with the team at Bookouture! And I’m doubly excited for an opportunity to craft what I pray will be even more endearing and heartwarming work with my new editor, Maisie Lawrence.’
We’re also pleased to announce that Associate Publisher Jess Whitlum-Cooper has agreed a four-book world rights deal with bestselling author Kate Hewitt. This deal covers a new heartbreaking and epic historical fiction series, taking Kate’s publishing to the end of 2026.
Jess says,
‘I am delighted to be bringing another historical fiction series from Kate to the Bookouture list. And I know her readers around the world will be just as excited to know there will be a new epic historical series to dive into before too long!’
Kate says,
‘I am thrilled to be working with Bookouture and with my editor Jess Whitlum-Cooper on this historical series, which I have been dreaming about writing for many years. Bookouture has done such a fabulous job with my contemporary and WW2 fiction, and I am excited to venture into something of a new territory, with this sweeping series set in the United States in the 1890s.’
