Bookouture re-sign contracts with historical fiction authors Chapman and Evans
Bookouture are delighted to announce that new contracts have been signed with historical fiction authors Anita Chapman and Natalie Meg Evans. The new books will publish in 2025.
We are delighted to announce that Associate Publisher Lucy Frederick has acquired World All Languages rights for two new sweeping, dual-narrative historical novels by Anita Chapman. The first novel will publish in summer 2025.
Lucy says,
‘I am overjoyed to have signed two more beautiful, escapist novels from Anita Chapman, who so perfectly writes stories bursting with romance, heart, drama and gorgeous, uplifting endings. Her characters are wonderfully real and her stunning Italian settings ooze charm and are so compelling that they read like additional characters. These new offerings will be more of what Anita does best – addictive stories of secrets past and present – and I can’t wait to help bring them to readers in 2025 and beyond!‘
Anita says,
‘Working with editor, Jayne Osborne and the Bookouture team on The Florence Letter and The Tuscan Diary has been an absolute joy – I was so impressed with the efficiency and care taken when producing these books together along with excellent communication at all times. Jayne recently moved to sunnier climes but I’m really excited to be working with my new editor, Lucy Frederick, who has a great deal of valuable experience, and the fabulous team.‘
We are also thrilled to announce we have acquired a three-book WW2 historical saga series from author Natalie Meg Evans. Commissioning Editor Natalie Edwards acquired World All Language rights (including audio) from Sophie Gorell Barnes at MBA Literary Agency. The first book in the series will publish in 2025, with the other two following in 2026.
Natalie Edwards says,
‘I am so delighted to be bringing these wonderful sagas into the world. They are so rich, and full of friendship, love and the bravery and courage of ordinary women in extraordinary circumstances. Set in London during the Blitz, Natalie’s wonderful writing breathes such life into her characters, and I know readers will feel every emotion possible when they get their hands on them!’
Natalie Meg Evans says,
‘I have just celebrated ten years as a published author and Bookouture has been alongside me for much of that time. I’m delighted to be signing with my editor, Natalie, for three books which gives me scope to develop the intertwined lives of three young women thrown together in London’s darkest hour. In returning my storytelling to London, I am back in a city where I lived out my early twenties, and which holds a continuing allure for me as a writer. I’m grateful to my brilliant agent Sophie Gorell Barnes for all the behind-the-scenes work that allows me to get on with doing what I love most, weaving stories.’
