Bookouture re-sign contracts with authors Chester and Everett

Bookouture are delighted to announce that new contracts have been signed with cosy crime authors Fliss Chester and F.L. Everett. The new titles will be published in 2025.

Bookouture are thrilled to announce the acquisition of three more novels from cozy crime author Fliss Chester. Commissioning Editor Rhianna Louise agreed a World All Languages deal, including audio, with Emily Sweet at Aevitas Creative Management UK for more Golden Age mysteries set in the 1920s.

Rhianna says,

‘I’m delighted to be publishing the next gripping adventure in the Cressida Fawcett series. Death in an English Village is out in April 2025 and will be available for pre-order this September. Returning series readers and newcomers alike are going to fall madly in love with it. There’s a gorgeous countryside setting, a fun and eccentric list of suspects, a pacy, twisty mystery AND some adorable, very mischievous pug puppies! What more could you want? Then there are two more brilliant cozies to follow, so watch this space! I adore working with Fliss Chester who is an immensely talented author brimming with excellent ideas. Her writing sparkles with wit and creativity, and she never fails to make me laugh out loud and gasp when her twists are revealed. Fliss is a star, and I couldn’t be happier that we have more books coming from her!

Fliss says,

‘Thrilled doesn’t even cover it, as I’m over the moon about working with Rhianna and bringing more cosy crimes to my amazing readers. Writing is such a joy – and I love the cosy crime genre so much – but it’s always made even more of a pleasure by working with an editor such as Rhianna and all the Bookouture team. I just hope the residents of my own very English village don’t spot themselves on the pages!

Emily says,

‘Publishing the Cressida Fawcett series with Bookouture has been an absolute joy from the very first moment, and I’m delighted that our relationship continues. Rhianna’s boundless enthusiasm combined with Fliss’s energy and expertise has led this series from strength to strength, and I for one can’t wait to see more of Cressida’s sleuthing adventures reaching her many fans.

We are also delighted to announce that Bookouture have signed F.L. Everett for a gorgeously escapist women’s fiction novel set in Scotland, to publish in early 2025. Associate Publisher Jess Whitlum-Cooper have acquired world rights, including audio, translation and film and TV.

Jess says,

‘I couldn’t be happier to be working with Flic on this new venture. She’s such a dream to publish – a fantastic writer, wonderful at world-building and developing gorgeous characters you feel you know instantly. Bringing her writing to the new genre of women’s fiction plays to all her strengths, and I know that readers are going to fall in love with this story.’

Flic says,

‘I am absolutely delighted to be signing with Bookouture again for my next book. I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive and responsive publisher, and I look forward to publishing with them for as long as they’ll have me.
