Bookouture acquires two domestic suspense novels from USA-Today-bestseller Nicola Marsh

We are so excited to share the news that Commissioning Editor Jennifer Hunt has acquired world rights to two twisty and emotional domestic suspense novels from Nicola Marsh, who has published 65 contemporary romances and sold over 7 million copies worldwide. The deal was made via Kim Lionetti at Bookends Literary Agency.

The first novel, The Scandal, focuses on three best friends in an affluent area of the Hamptons. Marisa, Claire and Elly live for their gossiping sessions; drinking white wine in their manicured back gardens, and discussing every town secret but their own, until a pregnant woman arrives in town one afternoon and their carefully controlled lives begin to unravel. It will be published in July 2019, with another standalone following in November.

Jennifer said,

Nicola has crafted three irresistibly compelling characters in The Scandal, she unfolds their secrets masterfully and threads in twist after twist after twist. It’s Liane Moriarty meets Gone Girl. Nicola has taken everything she knows about complex female relationships and dynamic narratives from her career writing romances, and poured them into this novel. I’m so thrilled she’s joining Bookouture and that I get to work on her brilliant books.

Nicola added,

I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the Bookouture team. They’re innovative, forward-thinking and passionate about books, and it’s exciting to have them launch The Scandal into the world. I’m rapt that Jennifer Hunt connected with my story right from the start and that she’s alongside for my new publishing adventure. Her enthusiasm, clarity and speed makes her a joy to work with. I can’t wait for The Scandal to release!
