Bookouture acquires more novels from authors Alexander, Mercer and O’Shea
Bookouture is thrilled to announce the acquisition of women’s fiction novels from authors Rose Alexander, Ali Mercer and Daisy O’Shea.

Bookouture is thrilled to announce the acquisition of two women’s fiction novels by author Rose Alexander. Associate Publisher Kelsie Marsden has acquired World English Language rights, including ebook and print, from Megan Carroll at Watson Little.
Kelsie says,
‘Rose is a beautiful writer and I am so excited to be working with her on more brilliant books. Taking her talent for wonderfully atmospheric, lush settings and compelling family stories, Rose is moving into writing darker women’s fiction, with a family mystery at the heart. She is endlessly creative and works incredibly hard plotting engaging and knotty drama for her characters to contend with. I know readers will adore the wild coastal, clifftop setting we have for the first book. Rose knows how to get her fans into the heart of all her characters and she is an expert at exploring emotion in her work – readers are going to be totally swept away. I can’t wait for them to dive in!’
Rose says,
‘I’m beyond delighted to have another contract with Bookouture and my fabulous editor Kelsie Marsden. This new direction is incredibly exciting and exactly the right path for me; I’m buzzing with ideas and can’t wait to get these new titles into the hands of my readers. I want to thank both Kelsie and my agent, the inimitable Megan Carroll, for everything they have done to support me in getting this far.’
Megan says,
‘Bookouture has been an absolutely brilliant home for Rose’s excellent writing, and Kelsie the perfect editor too! I’m so excited to see Rose move in a new darker direction and I can’t wait for readers to enjoy her next two books.’

We are also excited to announce a two-book deal with Ali Mercer. Associate Publisher Kelsie Marsden has acquired World English Language rights, including ebook, print and audio, from Judith Murdoch at Judith Murdoch Literary.
Kelsie says,
‘I am delighted to be working with Ali again on a totally new direction for her work. Ali is bringing her incredible talent for writing heart-wrenching family dramas to the dark women’s fiction space. Think beautiful, atmospheric settings, knotty family mysteries spiralling into the past and characters with big emotional turmoil to contend with. Ali is a wonderful writer, and I know her readers are going to love these new novels. I raced through this book when it landed in my inbox! Ali totally swept me away into the world of her mother and daughter protagonists and the devastating secrets that are clamouring to come to light. In this novel, Ali’s main character inherits a gorgeous old house in Oxford and is pulled through time to relive the tragic events of her family’s past. Readers will never see the twists coming!’
Ali says,
‘It’s an absolute pleasure to be working with my editor Kelsie Marsden at Bookouture on this new direction for my fiction – she loves a tangled family drama just as much as I do! I’ve had the time of my life creating the world of these dark, twisty, emotional stories, in which secrets and lies echo down the generations before coming to light in mysterious ways, and I hope my readers will enjoy them just as much as I enjoyed writing them. I had a great experience publishing my six women’s fiction novels with Bookouture, and am delighted to be back.’

Finally, we are delighted to announce the acquisition of two more books in the Emerald Isles series by Daisy O’Shea. Associate Publisher Kelsie Marsden has acquired World All Languages rights, including ebook, print and audio.
Kelsie says,
‘Daisy has swept many, many readers away to the wild Irish coast for several books now. Her beautiful coastal setting in County Cork is part of what makes her novels so special. I’m thrilled to be working with her on two new books set in the gorgeous fictional town of Roone Bay. Daisy is a wonderfully talented writer and she’s not afraid to wade in to the big emotions, making her readers laugh, cry and everything in between! Her big family stories are always full of secrets and past mysteries that interweave with Ireland’s intriguing history. Readers are going to adore these new books, following new characters as they contend with fresh challenges, find their voices and maybe some romance too.’
Daisy says,
‘When I started to write the Emerald Isle series, I had no idea that it would be received so well. Reader response has been overwhelmingly positive, which is truly heart-warming. I have already started to plan the next novel in the series, and have an absolute gem of a heroine in mind and the added bonus of forbidden romance, so do make sure to follow me so you don’t miss out. Living in the beautiful south of Ireland provides a continual input of inspiration, from the misty mountains and drenching rainfalls, to the warm hearts and fireside tales of the Irish.’
