Author Laura Tong of Verity Bright Passes Away

We are saddened to announce the sudden death of our author Laura Tong, one half of the husband-and-wife cosy crime writing partnership Verity Bright. 

Kelsie Marsden, Associate Publisher and Verity Bright’s editor at Bookouture said: “It is devastating to hear of Laura’s tragic death, and all our love and thoughts are with her husband, Mark, at this time.

“Laura was endlessly talented, creative and kind. Working with her on the bestselling Lady Eleanor Swift mystery series, and getting to know her over the last four years, has been a huge pleasure and a privilege. Her talent has delighted so many readers all around the world, and her imagination constantly surprised and charmed me with every new manuscript. I will really miss her, and I know she will be hugely missed by everyone who worked with her. As a couple, Mark and Laura travelled the world, researching locations for the next Verity Bright mystery and having their own adventures. It meant a great deal to her that these books have found so many passionate fans. Laura was working on more books in the series at the time of her death, and it will be an honour to publish them with Mark, for her.”

Laura will be hugely missed by all of us at Bookouture and our love, thoughts and condolences go out to her family and friends at this sad time.
